Ivan Badinski

I am a Postdoctoral Associate in the Economics Department at Yale University. I specialize in public economics and health economics. My research focuses on surgical and pharmaceutical innovation and physician practice styles. My recent projects have investigated the role of physician practice styles in driving regional differences in healthcare spending in the US, the impact of market demand on the introduction of novel surgeries, and the differences in novel procedure adoption between young and old physicians.

I earned my PhD in Economics from MIT in 2021 and my BA in Economics and Philosophy, summa cum laude, from Williams College in 2014. I worked as an economic consultant at Analysis Group in 2014-2015.

When not thinking about regressions, I enjoy photography, pottery, board games, and fantasy novels.
